Online Therapy

 

There are plenty of reasons that online therapy is a good fit for you:

  • You travel frequently and want access to your therapist anywhere in the world.
  • You find a therapist who seems like a good fit, but they live too far for you to travel to them.
  • You have social phobia or shyness, and getting started with a therapist has always been a daunting prospect.
  • You work the day shift, and cannot keep missing work for a regular appointment.

 

Technology has made it possible for us to do online therapy in many new and exciting ways. But there is more to conducting online therapy than going out and buying a laptop. You want a therapist who is comfortable with technology and HIPPA compliant.

 

With my patients, I use the secure technology of Hushmail for email communication, and Skype for both VOIP and video chat. We come up with an appointment time and medium that works for our treatment together, either as an adjunct to face-to-face appointments, or as an online therapy independent of f2f contact.
